Nissan Compact MPV

Latest Update: Nissan will soon introduce a new MPV based on the Renault Triber, under the Renault-Nissan partnership.

Launch: It could be launched by September 2024.

Price: Nissan is expected to price it from Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Seating Capacity: It is likely to be a seven-seater MPV, just like Renault Triber.

Engine & Transmission: Nissan’s version of the Triber will likely get the same 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (72PS/96Nm) with an option of either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. It could also be provided with a more powerful 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine (100PS/160Nm), as an option.

Features: It may boast an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, it is likely to get a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, push button start/stop and cooled storage in the center console.

Safety: The MPV’s safety kit could include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill start assist (HSA), traction control system (TCS) and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Rivals: Its only direct rival will be the Renault Triber, although it can be regarded as an alternative to Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios considering its price point. Also, Mahindra Bolero can also be considered as a rugged competitor.
